Pope Francis declared this year—December 8, 2020-December 8, 2021—a Year of St. Joseph. This celebration should bring to mind all our fathers—and other protectors. This dreadful, now ending 2020 has seen a lot of St. Josephs: health care professionals, first responders and essential workers, priests, deacons, neighbors, family, and parishioners who quietly, humbly have gotten us through tough times.
