In the present pontificate, we seem to be witnessing a re-Italianization of the Church, as well as the pushing aside of Latin, as in the decision by Cardinal Mauro Gambetti, Archpriest of St. Peter’s Basilica, that henceforth liturgical celebrations would be conducted principally in Italian, rather than Latin. This goes against the entire tradition of the Church. [1]
