Vaccine mandates are common in childcare services, educational institutions, and places of employment where risk of transmission of vaccine-preventable diseases may be high (e.g., hospitals or food service industries). Some states allow non-medical exemptions, most commonly for “personal belief” or “religious” exemptions. The Church is not opposed to vaccines.
