The unofficial Gay and Lesbian Alumni Association of Notre Dame and St. Mary’s (GALA) has finally won its long battle for official recognition despite its promotion of same-sex marriage. Following the University’s embrace of Pride Month, this continues a rapid ethical and cultural shift from a policy of respect and compassion for homosexuals commended by the Church to one of acceptance of same-sex marriage and gender malleability proscribed by the Church.
