Subtly undermining the free exercise of religion

Many Democrats and progressives have adopted the phrase “freedom of worship” while avoiding the phrase “free exercise of religion.” The “free exercise” wording comes from the opening line of the First Amendment: “Congress shall make no law respecting an establishment of religion, or prohibiting the free exercise thereof.” It may seem trivial, but there’s a big difference between freedom of worship and the free exercise of religion. Those on the left understand the difference.
