Why “Dobbs” may topple “Roe”

Defenders of Roe v. Wade and other abortion decisions hardly ever argue on the substance of those cases’ reasoning. Rather, they appeal to the legal doctrine of stare decisis which “invites the court — although it does not require it — to consider the practical consequences of undoing the prior precedent.” But if the reasoning was wrong, why defend it?
