German bishops’ head responds to critics

Last Tuesday, The Catholic Thing helped break the story of the letter from 70 bishops warning about the dangers of Germany’s “Synodal Path.” Now Bishop Georg Bätzing, president of the German bishops’ conference, says that “path” is necessary because of the sex-abuse crisis, and: “I can reassure you with an open heart: these fears with regard to the synodal path of the Catholic Church in Germany are not correct.”
