Putin demands Russian control of Jerusalem church

Vladimir Putin has demanded that Israel give Russia control of the Alexander Nevsky Church in the Christian Quarter of Jerusalem’s Old City. The former Israeli prime minister, Benjamin Netanyahu had promised the church to Putin as part of an arrangement to free an Israeli woman held in Moscow on drug charges. Israel’s current leader, Naftali Bennett, may be having second thoughts.
