Brown v. Board of Education (1954) rightly mortally wounded Plessy v. Ferguson (1896), and Dobbs v. Jackson Women’s Health Organization (2022) overruled Roe v. Wade (1973). But Brown and Dobbs represent contrasting visions of the role of the judiciary in shaping American society.
