Despite millennia of familiarity with the land where Christ lived and taught, new sites of interest to Christian pilgrims continue to be uncovered in Israel. The Israeli Antiquities Authority hopes soon to open them to tourists. Perhaps the most remarkable archaeological work being done is beneath the streets of contemporary Jerusalem, where archaeologists are slowly unearthing an ancient urban thoroughfare that Christ himself likely walked.
