Blase Cupich of Chicago likes to say there is clear continuity between Pope Benedict XVI and Pope Francis on the matter of grace. But then he suggests the Church should give Communion to the divorced and the homosexual. Cupich and others think grace and forgiveness don’t require repentance, but Benedict never taught that. [1]
