There are two Orthodox churches in Ukraine, and one is calling for a merger in order to separate from connections to the Russian Orthodox Church, which condones “continued destructive influence on society of structures subordinate to the aggressor state.” This will require “severing the church-canonical connection with the Moscow Patriarchate.”
