The Pope has named Cardinals Hollerich, Lacroix, da Rocha, Omella, and Vérgez to the 9-member Council of Cardinals. Each is very much in sync with the pope’s views: concern for environmentalism, activism on behalf of the poor and migrants, and commitment to outreach to LGBT people.
