The bishop of Limburg and chairman of the German bishops’ conference said he sees no Vatican obstacles interfering with the German Synodal Way’s ambitions and sees no danger of a schism. This is despite Rome’s explicit opposition to German plans to form a permanent synodal council which would effectively consolidate radical changes emerging from the Synodal Way.
