Cardinal-elect Fernández’s weak week in media

In some ways, it was a good week: the pope assigned Victor Manuel Fernández to the Vatican’s most important post and made him a cardinal. But then “Tucho” (monkey in Spanish) began to characterize his DDF mandate from Francis as categorically different from that of his predecessors: Cardinals Ladaria, Müller, Levada, and Ratzinger. As he told Crux, “not everything [in theology] should be closed” by the Church.
