If we don’t teach them, can we be surprised when they are frustrated or ignorant about the Mass and the Sacraments? For instance, fewer young people are being confirmed, then later are confused when told they must be to get married. It’s as though Catholics think the faith is transmitted by osmosis and no actual teaching need take place.
