Ireland: One in six babies’ lives end in abortion

Ireland’s Department of Health has released data on the total number of abortions carried out there in 2023: 10,033 – the highest number on record since the nation legalized abortion in 2019. The number represents a 250 percent increase. Says Pro Life Campaign spokesperson Eilís Mulroy, the colossal increase proves that “total lack of concern. . .by the Government towards this tragedy and loss of life needs to end. Senior members of the current government who oversaw the introduction of the new abortion regime promised that abortions would be ‘rare’ if people voted in the referendum six years ago to allow it.”
