Is Tim Walz right that J.D. Vance is weird?

Well, maybe it’s a bit odd that the GOP’s vice-presidential nominee is young, comes from a dysfunctional family, grew up in poverty, and became a U.S. senator at 38. But if we do not take the word weird as a pejorative – even though Walz clearly uses it as such – but, if instead, we understand the word as what it literally means: “very strange and unusual, unexpected,” then, yes, there are plenty of reasons to describe J.D. Vance as weird. And also preferable to the ordinary Tim Walz.
