Dantes Inferno On-Demand Registration

Dante’s Inferno with Robert Royal

Dante’s Inferno is first of three that covers the whole of his Divine Comedy. This course was given early in 2021 live and is now available OnDemand so that more people can enjoy this unique experience.

In this class, we’ll read how Dante wakes up to his predicament – he’s lost in a dark wood. And as he soon discovers, he’s going to have to make a trip to the very bottom of Hell in order to understand the things that are keeping him from a life of virtue and holiness. In the next course – on Purgatory – we’ll see how Dante portrays that virtues are developed; and in Paradiso how he sees the soul expanding and becoming capable of the Beatific Vision.

The course includes:

  • 8  1.5-hour video lectures, each session covers about four Cantos of Inferno
  • An optional copy of “Dante Alighieri: Divine Comedy, Divine Spirituality” by Robert Royal, available at time of registration
  • Optional extra reading material related to the course
  • 12-week online access from the day of registration

We highly recommend you purchase a copy of either Anthony Esolen or Robert and Jean Hollander’s translation of Dante’s Inferno (not included with registration) so you can better follow along and read the Cantos before each session.

Dante is a whole universe. He’s a writer you’ll want to read and reread, wholly or in part, so start well by enrolling in this guided course.
