Even when, please God, all the churches are in full communion in the one Church Catholic, there will likely still be a Roman Catholic Church. By virtues of its size, tradition. structure, charisms, and energies, the Roman Catholic Church will have a singular part in shaping the world-historical future of Christianity. And if the Gospel is true, Christianity bears witness to the future of the world, which is Christ. Therefore the Catholic Moment is encompassed by an eschatological horizon.
