Pope Francis caused a ruckus during his trip to Chile with an angry dismissal of witnesses who claimed that a bishop the pope was defending knew of clerical abuse and did nothing. After receiving further information, the pope is sending a well-known ecclesial investigator to Chile to re-examine the case.
