The heroic, French Catholic police officer, who traded himself for a terrorist’s hostages, and was mortally wounded, married his sweetheart in a nearby hospital just moments before he died. Said the priest who first married COL Arnaud Beltrame, 44, and his fiancée, Marielle, and then gave Beltrame the last rites, the gendarme was an “extremely intelligent and courageous man.”
