The Vatican’s number two, Secretary of State Pietro Parolin, has acknowledged that the Holy See’s deal to buy a luxury building in London was not transparent and promised to shed light on it. The current scandal has been mushrooming and is shaping up to be one of the most serious in decades for an institution whose bank and other offices have been embroiled in numerous cases of corruption.
