Carrying posters depicting a crucified pregnant woman, thousands of protesters disrupted Sunday services across Poland, demonstrating against a court ruling that imposed a near-total ban on abortion. Archbishop Stanisław Gądecki, president of Poland’s bishops’ conference, urged the protesters to express their opposition “in a socially acceptable way.”
