The new U.S. administration is aligned with Pope Francis’ Vatican priorities in areas like immigration and environmental policy, but at odds with foundational Church teachings on abortion and gender ideology. The question will be: Will the pope and the president cordially agree to disagree? That was not the case during the Trump presidency.
