What if the Synod on Synodality ends with the issuance of a document, from the pope and with magisterial authority, that essentially takes the same ambiguous approach to a range of sexual issues that Pope Francis previously took to Communion for the divorced and remarried in Amoris Laetitia? Francis is already on record saying that he does not fear schisms.
