The coalitions that elected the first Catholic president (John F. Kennedy) and the second one (Joe Biden) aren’t the same at all. Democrats just don’t talk about Christianity much, despite the fact that most of their constituents are Christian. The White Catholic vote is only 10 percent of the Democratic coalition but has risen to 17 percent for the GOP.
