The suggestion was made that advances in our scientific understanding require a rethinking of Catholic sexual teaching, whose categories are, apparently, inadequate to describe the complexities of human sexuality. To say that Catholicism’s multilayered, philosophically informed, theologically dense system is incapable of handling the current “subtleties” of human sexuality is just absurd.
