Catholic Bishops in Africa are consulting among themselves with a view to issuing a “single synodal pronouncement” on Fiducia supplicans. The bishops say they welcome the Vatican declaration’s reaffirmation of Church teaching on marriage between one man and one woman but caution clergy to avoid giving any impression of condoning homosexual behavior or celebrating a so-called “gay wedding.”
