As Church thrives elsewhere in Africa, Catholicism in Sudan decimated

The third Sudanese civil war is affecting the entire country but especially the Catholic Church, which, according to the pontifical foundation Aid to the Church in Need (ACN), has no seminarians and has reduced the Church “to almost nothing.” Many Catholics – Catholic laypeople, seminarians, priests, and bishops – have fled to South Sudan where they hope to keep the Faith alive until peace is restored in the north.
